Telford & Wrekin Council has expanded its Travel Telford on-demand transport service to include Telford College and Longdon-on-Tern, giving residents a more sustainable way to travel for just £2 per journey, or £1 for under 19s.

The service currently runs from Ironbridge, Horsehay and Lightmoor where there are limited bus services, connecting residents to key destinations like Telford Central Station, the Princess Royal Hospital and Madeley.

With no fixed timetable or route, the on-demand service lets passengers book their journey when and where they need it, using a simple app.

The on-demand service adapts to passengers, not the other way around, providing a more direct and flexible option for travel.

This expansion builds on the success of the on-demand zones in Ironbridge, Madeley, Horsehay and Lightmoor and reflects the Council’s commitment to smarter, more responsive public transport, especially in areas where bus services are limited.

Councillor Ollie Vickers, Cabinet Member for the Economy and Transport, said:

“Expanding this service is another step forward in making public transport more accessible and responsive to our resident’s needs.

“It’s flexible, easy to use, and will help students get to college more easily where there aren’t as many bus services. This gives them a direct way to travel that fits around their day and we’re proud to be investing in transport that works for people."

“It also opens up sustainable travel to those in Longdon-on-Tern where there are currently limited bus services allowing them to access essential services”.
