Delivered in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council, the training will help participants build their skills, share best practice and develop new approaches to engaging and supporting young people within their communities.

The workshop has been organised by the Council’s Building Safer & Stronger Communities team to help community providers develop new skills for building positive relationships and creating safe, welcoming spaces for young people. Participants will explore real-life scenarios, take part in interactive exercises and learn techniques that can be applied in community settings.

The training forms part of wider efforts by the Council and its partners to support those working with young people, particularly in areas where concerns have been raised about anti-social behaviour and community safety.

Councillor Paul Davis, Cabinet Member for Strong Communities, Local Pride and Veterans said: "Young people thrive when they have positive role models, trusted support networks and opportunities to develop their skills and confidence.

"Across Sutton Hill, local volunteers, youth leaders and community organisations already do a tremendous amount to support young people, and this training is about investing in those people and helping them build on the difference they make every day.

"By strengthening the knowledge, skills and confidence of those working directly with young people, we can help create more opportunities, stronger connections and even better support within our communities."

Organisations attending the training include AFC Telford United Foundation, 4 All Foundation, Love Play Active, Hub on the Hill, Challenging Perceptions and Park Lane Centre.

The Council is committed to working alongside local organisations, residents, schools, police and community groups to support young people, improve community safety and provide positive opportunities for children and families.
