Telford & Wrekin Council’s leisure services have been awarded The Active Standard, marking an important milestone in their continued commitment to providing safe, inclusive and high-quality facilities for residents and visitors.
The Active Standard (TAS) is a nationally recognised certification developed by ukactive, the UK’s trade body for the physical activity sector, in collaboration with leading standards professionals and organisations across the UK and Europe.
It supports gyms, leisure centres, swimming pools and other sport and fitness facilities to maintain the highest standards and encourage more people to take part in physical activity.
The service has demonstrated that their facilities and operations meet rigorous requirements. This includes assessment of health and safety practices and professional standards, providing further reassurance and confidence to customers using the council’s leisure facilities.
This accreditation recognises the vital role that the council’s leisure services play in supporting the health and wellbeing of local communities, while also contributing to the Borough’s economy. The achievement reflects the dedication of teams across the service who work to ensure every resident has a safe and welcoming experience.
