National Careers Week 2025, which runs from March 3-8, encourages people of all ages to explore different career pathways that match their interests and signposts people of all ages to guidance and free education resources across the UK.

The Council’s Job Box service can help people of all ages with their career planning and support them with CV writing, job applications and communication skills.

Telford & Wrekin Council’s FutureFocus service also provides free careers guidance and specialist help for young people with their career planning.

During National Careers Week, people of all ages can drop in to Job Box at Southwater One, Telford between 10am and 5pm every day for support and to access resources which can help them with their career journey.

Job Box will also signpost people towards the Telford Skills Show which is back at the Telford International Centre on Thursday 27 March (11.30am-6pm).

Telford & Wrekin Council is sponsoring the event along with The Careers & Enterprise Company, Integrated Care System (NHS Shropshire Telford and Wrekin), Telford College and Harper Adams University.

The event is open to people of all ages, giving them the chance to find out more about local employment, training and apprenticeship opportunities.

It’s an opportunity to explore career options, search for a job or seek advice on qualifications and training and a chance to connect with employers and discover pathways to different futures.

Local and national employers from diverse industries, along with education providers, will be on hand to offer hands-on activities, tailored advice and opportunities to enhance skills.

Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, Education, Employment & Skills, said:

“National Careers Week is a celebration of careers guidance which is widely recognised across the UK.

“Not only does the week focus on the careers support which is available for young people as they leave education, it also promotes support for people of all ages who are facing career challenges or are looking for a change of direction.

“We are proud to offer this support and help people across Telford and Wrekin with their career journey, whatever stage it’s at.”
