Telford & Wrekin Council invests in major gym upgrade at Lawley and Horsehay
Residents are set to benefit from a major investment in fitness facilities at Lawley & Horsehay Village Golf & Fitness Centre, as Telford & Wrekin Council prepares to install a brand-new suite of state-of-the-art gym equipment.
The gym will temporarily close from 28 August to 7 September while the improvements are completed, before reopening with upgraded facilities designed to enhance the customer experience and support healthier lifestyles.
The investment will see the introduction of modern, updated Freemotion cardio and strength equipment, including IFIT-enabled machines that provide interactive and personalised workout experiences. Members will also benefit from new fixed resistance equipment and a bespoke BLK BOX rig, offering greater variety, functionality and training opportunities.
The upgrade forms part of the council's continued commitment to investing in high-quality leisure facilities that help residents stay active and improve their health and wellbeing.
Councillor Angela McClements, Telford & Wrekin Council Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Leisure, said: “We're committed to providing modern, accessible leisure facilities that support the health and wellbeing of our residents.
"This investment in Lawley & Horsehay Village Golf & Fitness Centre will significantly enhance the gym experience for our members, with new equipment and technology that caters for people of all fitness levels."
"While a short closure is necessary to complete the installation, we're excited to reopen the gym with upgraded facilities that will benefit existing members and attract new users from across the Borough."
During the closure period, work will be carried out to remove existing equipment and install the new gym suite, ensuring members have access to a modern and high-quality fitness environment when the facility reopens.
As part of our aspiration’s memberships, members can use other leisure facilities within the Borough. Visit the TW Leisure website to find your nearest centre and for more information on memberships and facilities.
