Thousands of residents and visitors have attended events across Telford and Wrekin during 2026, enjoying a diverse programme celebrating culture, heritage, health and wellbeing, community spirit and family entertainment. The programme has included Spring into St George's Day, Embers Fire Festival, Telford Walk Week, Armed Forces Family Fun Day, Telford Krazy Races, Telford Town Park Amphitheatre and the spectacular Telford Balloon Fiesta.

Following the strong response from residents and visitors, the Council can confirm that a full programme of events will return in 2027, with planning already underway to deliver another packed programme of activities across the Borough.

The summer events programme continues to play an important role in bringing communities together, encouraging people to be active, celebrating local culture and heritage, and supporting the local visitor economy by attracting people into Telford and Wrekin's town centres, parks and visitor destinations. The 2026 spring and summer programme attracted more than 60,000 visitors across nine events in five months, demonstrating the significant impact events have on the Borough.

While plans for 2027 are gathering pace, there is still plenty to look forward to before the end of this year. Residents can enjoy Telford Day taking place in the Ironbridge Gorge in November, a celebration of community pride bringing people together in the heart of the Borough, before the festive season gets underway with a range of Christmas activities and attractions.

The Christmas programme includes Festive Gardens in Telford Town Park and Jack and the Beanstalk, which will be presented at Telford International Centre as part of the Telford Theatre on Tour programme while refurbishment works continue at Telford Theatre.

Councillor Angela McClements, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said: "We have been delighted by the response to this year's events programme and it has been fantastic to see so many residents and visitors enjoying everything from community celebrations and wellbeing activities through to major family attractions.

"Our events programme helps bring people together, creates lasting memories for families and friends, showcases everything our Borough has to offer and supports local businesses and our local visitor economy.

"While there are still some wonderful events to come before the end of the year, including Telford Day and our Christmas programme, we are already excited to confirm that many of our most popular events will return in 2027.
