Telford Town Park to host free family fun day

Families across Telford and Wrekin are invited to a free and exciting Early Years family fun day later this month.

Organised by Telford & Wrekin Council’s Early Years Team, the event takes place on Saturday, 14 June 2025, from 11am to 3pm at Telford Town Park.

The event features a fun-packed programme including, games, face painting, art and science workshops and a range of interactive activities for families to enjoy together.

This isn’t just a fun day out, it is also a great opportunity for families to connect with local services and learn about the support available throughout the early years, from childcare funding to health and wellbeing advice.

This event will highlight important services and information, including:

  • Childcare funding entitlements for children under five
  • Wrap-around childcare for children aged five to eleven
  • Happy, Healthy and Active Holiday Clubs for Children aged five to sixteen
  • Family hubs and local support resources

Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, Education, Employment and Skills, said:

“Events like this shows how committed we are to giving children the best start in life. This is a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy a day out and connect with support that could really make a difference in their daily lives.

“The day also supports our 5 by 5 initiative, which is all about providing opportunities for children to feel happy, healthy and active and ready to start school.”

On the day, families can explore a vibrant mix of activities and demonstrations from confirmed organisations, including:

  • Telford Aerial Adventure - a taste of high ropes excitement for adventurous little one
  • 4 All Foundation - creative and sensory play activities that encourages learning through fun
  • Cyclones - energetic sports activities promoting movement and wellbeing
  • Fostering team and Family Hubs team - on hand to provide advice and information
  • Sal Tonge - the fabulous storyteller will be joining the day, bringing music, laughter and lively entertainment for little ones

Whether people are looking for something active, creative or informative, there is plenty to discover. Friendly experts will also be available to offer tailored advice on the support families are entitled to and how to access it.

This event is free to attend, and no booking is required. Families are welcome to drop in anytime throughout the day
