Telford and Wrekin businesses invited to free sustainability and social value procurement event
Telford Sustainability & Energy Cluster (TSEC), supported by Telford & Wrekin Council, is pleased to invite local businesses to take part in a new event designed to help businesses understand and leverage the increasing importance of environmental sustainability and social value in procurement.
The event will equip attendees with practical insight into how changing procurement requirements including the expectations set out in the new Procurement Act are shaping supply chains and buying decisions across both public and private sectors.
Attendees will hear how they can strengthen their environmental and social value credentials, improve their competitiveness in tender processes and contribute to wider sustainability goals in the borough.
On the day, participants will also have the opportunity to learn from local exemplars and meet specialists who can provide guidance on building sustainable practices into everyday business operations. The event is open to businesses of all sizes across Telford and Wrekin. It is particularly relevant for organisations looking to strengthen their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) credentials, improve their readiness for B2B tenders, or develop their understanding of how sustainability expectations are shaping procurement decisions.

“By helping organisations prepare for these changes, we’re supporting growth and encouraging more meaningful, long-term impact across the Borough.”
Andy Whyle, Vice Chair for the Telford Sustainability & Energy Cluster said:
"Telford’s businesses are entering a moment where sustainability, social value, and responsible practice will define who leads and who gets left behind. This is a chance to reshape our competitive edge and set the pace for the region’s future economy. The organisations that step up now will not only meet rising expectations, but they’ll also redefine what good looks like".
