Spring into St George’s Day starts Telford’s 2026 events programme this weekend
Families are being encouraged to head to Telford Town Park this Saturday (25 April) as Spring into St George’s Day launches Telford & Wrekin Council’s 2026 Culture & Events programme.
The free, family‑friendly celebration is the first Council led event of the year and will feature a packed programme of performances, activities and entertainment, celebrating spring and St George’s Day in one of the Borough’s most popular outdoor spaces.
Visitors can enjoy a full day of free family fun, with entertainment, performances and hands‑on activities taking place in Telford Town Park’s QEII Arena, bringing together creativity, community spirit and seasonal celebration in one of Telford’s most well‑used green spaces.
Spring into St George’s Day marks the start of a year‑long programme of events running from April through to December, bringing communities together at parks, heritage sites and venues across Telford and Wrekin.
Councillor Angela McClements, Telford & Wrekin Council Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture & The Arts, said: “I’m delighted to share such a strong programme of events for 2026. This year’s line‑up brings new experiences to Telford alongside much‑loved favourites, with something for every community across the Borough. From spectacular fire cooking festival in Ironbridge to festive moments in Telford Town Park, these events help showcase what makes Telford and Wrekin such a special place. We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors throughout the year.”
Following Spring into St George’s Day, the 2026 programme includes returning favourites such as the Armed Forces Family Fun Day and the Telford Balloon Fiesta, alongside new events including the Embers Fire Festival in Ironbridge and Krazy Races at Telford Town Park.
