A former Magistrate, successful businessman and dedicated philanthropist, Graham has spent decades helping to shape opportunities for people, businesses and communities across Telford and Wrekin and beyond.

Alongside his wife Jenny, Graham co-founded road safety training business TTC in the 1990s. The company grew rapidly, employing more than 120 people locally and supporting a network of more than 400 trainers across the UK. In 2006, Graham was awarded an OBE for services to road safety.

Since retiring from business, Graham has continued to give back to the community through charitable and voluntary work. He established the Wynn Foundation, which provides grants to charities and community organisations working to improve local communities through equal opportunities.

Graham is Patron of Lingen Davies Cancer Support and a Trustee of the Shropshire Community Foundation. He has also supported a wide range of organisations and initiatives, including the Telford Town Deal Board, the Shropshire Society in London, the Royal Air Force Museums as an ambassador, Midlands Air Ambulance, Marches Local Enterprise, and the Telford & Wrekin Business Board, and as a board member of the Community Interest Company established to oversee the Christopher Turley Armed Forces Hub.

Councillor Lee Carter, Leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, said:

"It is an honour for the Council to present this Special Recognition Award to Graham Wynn OBE."

"Graham's contribution to Telford and Wrekin has been immense. As a former Magistrate, a highly successful businessman and, more recently, through his philanthropic work alongside his wife Jenny, he has dedicated countless hours to supporting local people, businesses and charitable causes."

"His leadership, generosity and commitment to championing innovation and opportunity have made a lasting impact across our Borough. This award is a fitting recognition of the difference he has made to so many organisations and communities over many years."

The Special Recognition Award is presented by the Council to recognise individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Borough and its communities.

The award will be formally presented at the Full Council meeting on Thursday 16 July.
