Rotary club donates support bags for children in Telford & Wrekin
Market Drayton Rotary Club has donated support bags to help children and young people.
The bags will be given to children experiencing difficult circumstances, including those in crisis at home or moving into temporary accommodation, helping to provide comfort and essential items when they need it most.
More than 15 support bags have already been donated and distributed to children across the Borough, with the Rotary Club committing to continuing to support children and families.
The initiative is helping children who may be at risk of homelessness or going through particularly difficult periods, offering practical help as well as a sense of reassurance.
Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, Education and Skills, said:
“We are very grateful to Market Drayton Rotary Club for this kind donation. These bags are already supporting children who are going through very difficult situations.
“They provide a small sense of comfort at a time when many children may have very little of their own and that can make a real difference as they settle into a new environment.”
Teresa Tanner, Rotary Market Drayton said:
“We’re pleased to be able to support children and families in Telford & Wrekin during what can be very difficult times. These bags are a small way of offering comfort and showing that people care, and we’re glad they are reaching those who need them most. We would also like to thank staff from Shrewsbury and Telford hospitals who have kindly assisted with donations”.
Telford and Wrekin Council is working alongside the Rotary Club to support children and families who need it most.
