Aimed at supporting adults aged 18 and above, this six‑week programme provides practical guidance in navigating everyday technology. It offers accessible assistance for individuals who may feel uncertain or less confident when using smartphones, tablets, or computers.

Whether it’s sending emails, staying in touch with family, shopping online, or accessing health services, the sessions help people get to grips with their own devices in a relaxed, supportive environment.

AbilityNet’s specialist trainers and Capgemini’s Digital Champions guide participants through essential skills, from browsing the internet and sharing photos to staying safe online, with help available for those without their own device too.

Councillor Zona Hannington, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance, Governance and Customer Service, said:

“With so many services now online, our free Tech Made Friendly courses are a great way for people to get comfortable using technology for everyday tasks. Just bring your smartphone or tablet along, and our friendly trainers will help you learn step by step.”

“If you only have a few questions or would rather not commit to a six-week course, you can simply pop into one of our free drop-in sessions held at different locations around the Borough. No need to book – just turn up!”
