Crews refreshed markings across neighbourhoods including Ketley Bank, Madeley & Sutton Hill, The Nedge, Brookside, Stirchley, Randlay and Stafford Park, improving visibility and helping to maintain safer journeys for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

The programme covered a wide range of vital road safety features, including give-way markings, intermittent lines, speed hump triangles, H-bars and 20mph roundels.

One of the largest single areas of work was in The Nedge, where crews completed more than 5.9km of thermoplastic white lining, alongside numerous supporting markings and localised patching works.

In total, more than 980 individual road marking features were installed or renewed, delivering a clear visual improvement to residential streets, local routes and key junctions across the Borough.

Councillor Nathan England, Cabinet Member for Safer Streets and Better Housing, said: "Good road markings might seem like a small thing, but they make a big difference to how safe people feel getting around the Borough - whether they're driving, cycling or walking to school.

“Our Find & Fix crews have done a brilliant job this summer, and this is exactly the kind of practical, visible improvement that residents tell us they want to see more of."

The road marking improvements form part of the Council's ongoing £91 million investment in maintaining the local highway network and ensuring roads remain safe and well presented for residents and visitors alike.

Next, our teams will complete work in Ercall before moving on to Dawley and Aqueduct, Haygate and Park, Horsehay and Lightmoor, Ketley, Overdale and The Rock, The Gorge and Wrockwardine Wood, bringing clearer and safer road markings to even more communities across the Borough.
