Teams, partners, and organisers recently gathered at Meeting Point House in Southwater to officially launch this year’s event. Local businesses including Muller, Babcock International, Telford Copper & Stainless Cylinders Ltd, and Globe Bingo Hall are already preparing for a high-energy race. With team spaces filling fast, organisers are calling on more local organisations to sign up before it’s too late.

Kwik Fit has been confirmed as the official PIT Area Sponsor, giving spectators the chance to meet teams and see their soapbox creations up close. Telford Centre will sponsor the trophies, with seven team awards up for grabs.

The Lingen Davies Sunflower Appeal will be the headline charity partner for 2026, with fundraising activities taking place throughout the day to support their vital work.

Other sponsors and partners include Hickory’s Smokehouse, FBC Manby Bowdler, Barratt Homes, and Cartwrights Waste Disposal Services Ltd. Krazy Races prides itself on showcasing local businesses, giving each event a unique community feel. Organisers are inviting more community-focused businesses to get involved through sponsorship or team entries.

Danny Scoffin, Head of Brand & Strategic Development at Krazy Races, said: “I grew up in Telford, so bringing Krazy Races here is very special. Nearly all team places are now sold, and the launch event was a huge success. We’re grateful to Telford & Wrekin Council for inviting us and making this completely free to attend, ticketless event possible.”

Councillor Angela McClements, Telford & Wrekin Council Cabinet Member for Leisure, Tourism, Culture & the Arts said:  “Events like Krazy Races are exactly what make Telford such a vibrant and exciting place to visit. It’s fantastic to see so many local businesses, schools and community groups already getting involved and bringing their creativity and energy to the event.

We’re proud to be working in partnership to bring this completely free, family-friendly event to Southwater, creating a brilliant day out for residents while also supporting an important local cause through the Lingen Davies Sunflower Appeal.

I’d encourage anyone thinking of taking part to sign up now and be part of what promises to be an unforgettable event for Telford this summer.”

Applications are closing soon. Organisers have already recruited 35 of the 20–40 local teams they were aiming for. Businesses, schools, and community groups can still get involved through sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
