Leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, Councillor Lee Carter, said: “Remembrance is a time for reflection, unity and gratitude. We are proud to support a programme that honours our Armed Forces and brings our community together in meaningful ways.
“As Leader of the Council, I feel a sense of responsibility to ensure that the sacrifices of those who served are never forgotten. In moments like these, when we stand together, we are reminded not only of the cost of conflict but of the strength and resilience of our communities.
From murals to memorials, parades to poppies, we encourage everyone to take part in this year’s commemorations and ensure Telford and Wrekin continues to remember.”
Share Your Stories
As part of this year’s borough-wide programme, Telford & Wrekin Council is encouraging residents to share their personal stories, photographs, and tributes by posting on Facebook using the hashtag #TWRemembers.
Councillor Carter added, “Whether it’s a treasured family photograph, a story passed down through generations, or a moment captured at one of this year’s events, every contribution helps to honour the legacy of the Armed Forces and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
“By sharing these reflections, residents will help create a powerful community tribute that brings together voices from across Telford and Wrekin in a shared act of remembrance.”
