The event will take place on Thursday 20 August, from 11am to 2pm between the Silver Birch Family Hub and Hub on the Hill. It is free to attend and open to local families with children and young people of all ages.

On the day, there will be face painting, games, community stalls and delicious food, with the chance to meet a range of local support services and community organisations. Families can drop in, have fun together and find out more about the support available in their area. This includes Healthy Lifestyles, Young Carers, PODS, Learn Telford, All Age Autism Hub, Citizens Advice and many more.

The Family Hubs team offers a range of free online and in person programmes and workshops, delivered by a welcoming team and accessible in the community and from home to support families at different stages.

Family Hubs focus on the early years but support families with children aged 0-19, and up to 25 for young people with SEND. Parents can attend a drop-in session and be guided to the right help, whether online, by phone or in person.

Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, Education, Employment and Skills, said: “Family Hubs are about making it easier for families to get the right support at the right time.

“Our Family Hubs have gone from strength to strength since they first opened, and I’m really pleased that thousands of families have already made use of services available. The hubs provide a wealth of information on infant feeding, mental health, healthy lifestyles and many other services.

“This fun day is a great chance for families to enjoy themselves, meet our teams and find out what help is available in a relaxed and welcoming way.”

Families are encouraged to come along, join in and find out how Family Hubs can support them.

Family Hub locations include Oak, Silver Birch, Walnut, Cherry Blossom, Hazel, Evergreen and Damson.
