Final week to have your say on town and parish council proposals
Residents across Telford and Wrekin are being reminded that there is just one week left to take part in the public consultation on the draft proposals for the Community Governance Review.
The consultation closes at 11:59pm on Monday 14 July 2025, so the Council is urging individuals, town and parish councils, community groups, and local organisations to share their views before the deadline.
The Community Governance Review is a borough-wide review of town and parish council arrangements, aiming to ensure they reflect local identities and provide effective local governance. The current phase of the review presents draft proposals that could affect parish and town council boundaries, as well as the number of councillors representing each area, and include the creation, merging, or abolition of councils in some areas.
Throughout the consultation a series of public drop-in information sessions have been held around the borough, with one last session scheduled for Thursday 10 July between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at the Hub on the Hill in Sutton Hill.
Councillor Giles Luter, Chair of the Boundary Review Committee, said:
“This is your last chance to help shape how your local area is represented. Whether you agree with the proposals or have concerns, your feedback is essential to ensure the final decisions reflect the needs and views of our communities.”
Residents can view the proposals and submit their feedback in the following ways:
- Online: Visit www.telford.gov.uk/cgr
- Email: Send comments to reviews@telford.gov.uk
- Post: Write to Community Governance Review, Electoral Services, Darby House, Lawn Central, Telford TF3 4JA
The final recommendations will be published later this year and implemented in time for the May 2027 local elections.
