There are currently six family hubs located across the Borough, run by Telford & Wrekin Council and partners.

Each hub has dedicated staff who provide advice to families and can signpost them to key topics including parenting courses, local activities in the community and information about services that can support their family life.

In the last 12 months, more than 8,500 people have accessed information or used services through their local family hub.

With plans afoot to open new family hubs across the Borough later this year, the family hubs team would like to get some feedback from families and understand what works well and how the hubs could be improved.

Anyone who completes the survey will be entered into a free prize draw to win a £50 shopping voucher.

Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, Education, Employment and Skills, said:

“Our family hubs have gone from strength to strength since they first opened, and I’m really pleased that thousands of families have already made use of services available. The hubs provide a wealth of information on infant feeding, mental health, healthy lifestyles and many other services.

“Through the survey we really want to get under the skin of how people feel their local hub has helped them and if there are areas for improvement.

“This will help us to develop our family hub offer as we progress plans to open more centres later this year."

The family hub survey is now live, people have until March 28 to complete it online.

Family hubs are currently located in Oakengates, Sutton Hill, Woodside, Hadley, Dawley and PODS at Central Park.

There’s also a family hubs drop-in session every Wednesday from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Southwater Library.

Each of the Council’s family hubs have been named after trees – as a symbol of stability, growth and strength and in light also of the borough’s “Tree City of the World” achievement.

Family Hubs are open Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm.

In addition to the family hubs, information and support is also available online.
