The event organised by Telford & Wrekin Council and held at Hub on the Hill, welcomed more than 70 families, and offered a range of activities, entertainment and opportunities to connect with local services.

Children enjoyed face painting, games and activities throughout the day, while parents and carers had the chance to meet representatives from organisations providing support and advice for families. This included Healthy Lifestyles, Young Carers, PODS, Learn Telford, All Age Autism Hub, Citizens Advice and many more.

The games proved a hit with children and parents alike, encouraging families to spend quality time together while enjoying a fun day out in the community. Residents and visitors also enjoyed delicious food and the opportunity to meet other local families.

Councillor Shirley Reynolds, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People, Education, Employment and Skills, said: "It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the day and making the most of everything on offer.

"Seeing families laughing, playing and spending time together was a heartwarming reminder of what our Family Hubs are all about. While the torrential rain meant some activities had to move indoors during the afternoon, it was fantastic to see families continue to take part and enjoy the event.

“Every day, our hubs support families with everything from infant feeding and healthy lifestyles to mental health and parenting support, helping them access the advice and services they need at the right time. Our Family Hubs have gone from strength to strength since they first opened, and I’m really pleased that thousands of families have already made use of services available.

"The positive feedback from families and partner organisations highlights the importance of creating opportunities for people to connect, have fun and access help when they need it."

Information about Family Hubs and local services was available throughout the day, helping families discover the range of support available across the Borough. This includes regular drop-ins, workshops, parenting programmes, health and wellbeing support, and access to advice for families with children and young people of all ages.

Family Hubs support the Council's ambition for every child to have the best start in life by helping them to be healthy, safe, heard and happy.

Family Hub locations include Oak, Silver Birch, Walnut, Cherry Blossom, Hazel, Evergreen and Damson.
