Easter Adventures Await at Town Park
Easter Adventures Await at Town Park
The award-winning Telford town park will be full of fun free activities for children and young people this Easter with two days dedicated to Telford & Wrekin Council’s Urban Games programme.
On Wednesday 16 and 23 April, the climbing wall and free fall experience within Aerial Adventure – Telford’s high ropes activity centre – will be open to the public along with a range of activities led by the 4 All Foundation that focus on promoting health, wellbeing, and teamwork in a safe environment.
Got a bike that needs some TLC? Dr Bike will be at the BikeHub providing free repairs and safety checks to get kids cycling with confidence.
These activities are completely free to attend and require no booking - just turn up and join the fun. With professional coaches on-site, every session is designed to be exciting, engaging, and safe.
Councillor Richard Overton, (Lab) Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Highways, Housing & Enforcement said: “We’re pleased to deliver the Urban Games programme again this Easter. The Town park’s weekly events are perfect for keeping young people active and helping parents save money.
“We work directly with professional coaches from Telford United AFC, Shropshire Cricket, Wrekin Hockey Club and many others to deliver a quality experience that is structured, fun and above a safe place for young people to gather in their local parks and playgrounds.”
“Our investment in Urban Games underlines Telford & Wrekin Council’s commitment to supporting families and young people. It’s all part of our vision to protect, care and invest to create a better borough, which we’re achieving whilst ensuring our residents continue to pay the lowest Council Tax in the Midlands.”
The Urban Games programme is part of the council’s commitment to building safer and stronger communities, funded in partnership with West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner.
The full programme includes activities across Telford and Wrekin. For more details and a full programme of activities, visit the website and download the brochure.
These free activities are complemented by the council’s 10 by 10 initiative, fostering a sense of curiosity, confidence, and community in our children. These experiences are crucial in helping children develop essential life skills and broaden their horizons. We are committed to ensuring that every child in Telford and Wrekin can participate in these enriching activities.
