Easter activities are now on the Wrekin
A new location has been added to the free ‘Wild Telford’ activity sessions as Telford & Wrekin Council teams up with Shropshire Wildlife Trust for the Easter Urban Games programme.
The specially developed sessions are are open to all ages and designed to help little ones discover nature in local reserves - and new for this season – at the Halfway House on the Wrekin starting on Tuesday, April 15.
Councillor Richard Overton, (Lab) Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Highways, Housing & Enforcement said: “These activities are a great way for families to spend some time together in some of Telford & Wrekin’s beautiful green spaces that won’t break the bank either.
“We want the people of Telford and Wrekin to have the best council services possible and I am proud of the work teams across the authority are doing to continue creating a better borough, whilst we also maintain the lowest rates of council tax in the Midlands and some of the lowest in the whole country.

Tuesday, April 22 - Explore Randlay Valley Nature Reserve and try Easter rock painting and campfire marshmallows with friends and family.

In addition, more than 100 free to attend sports and activity sessions will be held over the two-week Easter break with activities at venues across the borough ranging from World Wrestling Entertainment, football with AFC Telford United Foundation, Shropshire Cricket and Telford & Wrekin Hockey Club will all be leading sessions to ensure top-notch instruction and plenty of fun.
On Wednesday, April 16 & 23 the town park will be buzzing with free activities including the climbing wall and free fall at Aerial Adventure facility as well as fun sports on the playgrounds - football, basketball, dodgeball or badminton - run by the 4 All Foundation who’s mission it is to deliver opportunities to promote health and well-being as the key to unlocking potential.
With professional coaches leading the way, every activity is designed to be safe, fun, and completely free to attend. The Urban Games programme is open to young people up to the age of 16 and is funded through the council’s Building Safer and Stronger Communities programme, in partnership with West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner.
Children and babies of all ages are welcome and under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult. Please bring suitable clothing and refreshments.
