"A huge thank you to everyone who pulled together yesterday during the fire emergency near Newdale Primary School.

"We are incredibly proud of how our community responded. Local businesses opened their doors without hesitation to shelter our evacuated children - your kindness and compassion made the situation so much more manageable, and we are truly grateful.

"We also want to extend our deepest thanks to the emergency services - our police, fire, and ambulance crews - whose swift, professional response kept everyone safe. I know that local Councillor Mark Boylan was on the scene and praised the response of everyone involved.

"Through it all, the dedication of Newdale Primary School's staff to the safety and wellbeing of every child was unwavering. Their calm, composed leadership during such a challenging time is a testament to the exceptional team they are.

"Together, the community showed exactly what it's made of."
