From Saturday 20 December to Sunday 4 January, the flat-rate 50p single fare will apply across all council-run bus services, including routes 99, 100, 101, 102 and 103.

The festive fare offer is part of the council’s ongoing commitment to providing affordable, reliable public transport for residents and encouraging more people to try the bus for everyday journeys, including visiting family and friends over the festive period.

Councillor Ollie Vickers, Cabinet Member for Economy and Transport, said: “Affordable public transport plays a vital role in keeping our communities connected, particularly over the festive period when people want to visit loved ones, attend events and get out and about without worrying about the cost of travel.

“Since launching our council-run bus services, we’ve seen more than 700,000 passenger journeys, demonstrating just how important these routes are for residents accessing work, education, healthcare and local services.

“By bringing back the 50p single fare this Christmas, we want to encourage even more people to give the bus a go and see how easy, convenient and affordable it can be. It’s about making travel simpler, easing pressure on household budgets and supporting greener, more sustainable ways of getting around the Borough.”

The council’s bus network links communities across the Borough providing regular and convenient journeys. Single fares outside the promotion remain just £2 for adults and £1 for children, and reduced-rate day, week, month and annual tickets are also available for frequent travellers.

Telford & Wrekin Council bus services offer one of the lowest fares in the country, while continuing to charge the lowest Council Tax rates in the Midlands.
