Veolia, the recycling and waste partner for Telford & Wrekin Council, has relaunched the Telford and Wrekin EnviroGrant for 2026, giving community groups across the Borough the chance to receive up to £1,000.

Since launching in 2014, EnviroGrant has funded over 200 community initiatives, distributing nearly £200,000 to grassroots projects across the area.

The 2026 EnviroGrant launched at Allscott Meads Primary School, which received £1,000 in funding last year. Councillor Carolyn Healy visited the school alongside Veolia representatives to see how the funding was used to develop the school’s Farmers’ Market Day project, which sees pupils growing produce and selling it to raise funds for the school.

The grant is open to non-profits such as charities, schools, community groups and town/parish councils. 

Councillor Carolyn Healy, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, Planning and Sustainability at Telford & Wrekin Council, said:

 “We are proud of the positive impact EnviroGrant continues to have across Telford and Wrekin. Through our strong partnership with Veolia, we’ve been able to support more than 200 community-led projects that are making a real difference to our environment and the wellbeing of our residents.

“It was great to visit Allscott Meads Primary School and see how its Farmers’ Market project has grown with the help of the grant.

“Another £15,000 is now available and I would encourage community groups and individuals to apply and help make our Borough a healthier, more welcoming and even better place to live”.

“Allscott Meads Primary School and Nursery is excited to welcome families to its Farmers' Market, celebrating local produce, community spirit and young enterprise all thanks to the support received from the Enviro Grant. It is so important that our children develop a real sense of community and see the fruits of their labour bring smiles to the faces of our wonderful families and local residents.”

Applications are welcome from projects that enhance or protect the environment through practical action, education, or activities that improve the quality of life for the community.
