Brand new cycling studio opens at Abraham Darby Sports and Leisure Centre.
A brand new indoor cycling studio which will create an energetic and lively space for customers to workout has now opened at Abraham Darby Sports and Leisure Centre. Complete with 12 static bikes, a new cycling studio programme will launch in January 2023 which will feature instructor led and virtual Les Mills Rpm and Sprint Classes.
The onsite aspirations gym has also re-opened after a refurbishment which includes new state of the art fitness equipment installed like treadmills, elliptical cross trainers, stepmills and Ski ergs. There will also be 17 fixed resistance stations and larger free weights area to include a smith machine.
Telford & Wrekin Council has invested £270,000 into the leisure facilities at Abraham Darby as a part of the council’s wider commitment for leisure services which was announced last year to help make the borough cleaner, greener, safer and more enjoyable.
Councillor Kelly Middleton (Labour), Cabinet Member for Leisure, Public Health and Well-Being, Equalities and Partnerships commented: “Over the last year we have seen the demand for indoor cycling classes rise across our leisure centres. More and more customers are taking part in these high impact, energetic group classes every week so it was important that we created a space that our members love and want to visit.
“We are on the side of our residents, we know how important it is to have access to high-quality facilities to keep fit and stay healthy and that’s why we will continue to invest in our council our leisure facilities.”
As a part of the refurbishment work structural work has also been carried out to the swimming pool. The pool will re-open on Monday 12 December 2022.
