Festival well underway with a host of activity still to come

The event continues until 2 October with many more music, comedy and poetry acts alongside film screenings, guided walks and the very popular  Ironbridge Together Day 10am – 4pm Saturday 24 September.

Taking place throughout Ironbridge High Street and at Dale End Park, the day will offer music, local artists and craft demonstrations, talks, vintage car rides, children’s activities and workshops.

You will have the opportunity to learn to sing in the male voice workshop, or learn to Charleston.

The Night of Light will follow from dusk until 10pm in Dale End Park Rose Garden and the gardens will be lit and animated by the enchanting sounds of the Wodwos.

The bar in the Spiegeltent will also be open as will the vintage fairground rides. It will be a traffic-free open day along the Wharfage with pop-up shops and entertainment.

Forthcoming events in the Festival Of Imagination include Gatsby Swing Jazz with songs from the American jazz era including Ella Fitzgerald, Astaire, Sinatra, ‘The Charleston’, ‘Putting On The Ritz’ plus contemporary music in jazz style. There are film classics including The Lodger (1927) and Rocky Horror Show (1975) being screened, poetry events and comedy club evenings.

Family entertainment is provided in the form of family-friendly films, chocolate workshops and Arts Storyboard competitions.

There are even a number of workshops so people can join in the fun – from writing to singing and dancing!

Rounding up the Festival is Adam Purnell – The Shropshire Lad – cooking up The Soul Food Sunday social – definitely not to be missed!
