Kids4£1 summer activities are a huge success

Over 4,200 residents have taken part in the council’s Kids4£1 activities this summer.

Kids4£1 summer activities are a huge success

The bumper summer activities programme, which included activities 7 days a week from the different council owned leisure facilities in the borough, has helped families to keep busy and active during the six weeks holidays without spending too much.

Family favourite activities like swimming, tobogganing, tennis and badminton were all popular options plus brand new activities added for summer 2022 like £1 bike hire, soft play and archery.

The popular Kids4£1 programme will return in October ahead of the autumn half term break.

Councillor Kelly Middleton (Lab) Cabinet Member for Leisure, public health and well-being, equalities and partnerships said: “We are on the side of residents and we know now more than ever our residents don’t want to travel or spend too much during school holidays. Equally with so many leisure facilities right on our doorsteps here in the borough it’s so important our children young people have plenty of options to keep busy and active and that’s what these one pound activities are all about. We’re delighted that the programme has been such a hit with local families this year.”
