25 years of golf at Horsehay Golf and Fitness Centre
Horsehay Golf Club is celebrating 25 years with an Anniversary Bonanza Competition on Sunday 14 August.
Cllr Kelly Middleton (Labour) Cabinet member for Leisure, Public health and well-being, Equalities and Partnerships
We are thrilled that the Club is thriving and reflects on the relationship between the Club and Telford & Wrekin Council and we would like to thank Club members for their support. This is such an important facility for the area providing a very popular leisure venue for our local residents. The future investment into the course also shows our commitment to Telford & Wrekin Council being on your side and ensuring fitness and well-being is a priority."
Telford &Wrekin Council’s Horsehay Golf and Fitness Centre will shortly have investment work starting as part of the council’s On Your Side programme. This work includes investment to level a number of tees starting 18 August with a second round of work scheduled to start in September, which will include work to bunkers and pathways.
Facilities at Horsehay Golf and Fitness Centre include the 18-hole golf course, floodlit driving range, putting green, 9-hole Footgolf course, brand new, state-of-the-art 50 station fitness suite and 19th Hole Bar and Restaurant.
Nigel Thomas, Club President, said
"I have had the honour of holding the post as Club President for the past 10 years and we are looking forward to celebrating the milestone with a club competition. The investment from the council for the tees and bunkers will attract new members as well as keeping existing members. This is a great time for the Club and we are looking forward to celebrating this milestone."
