Helen Onions, Telford and Wrekin's Acting Statutory Director for Public Health said: “It’s really encouraging to see another week when Covid cases continue to come down in our borough – though they are still above the regional and national average.
“By now, we would have all learnt to live with this virus and to include small, but effective precautions (such as good hand hygiene, wearing a face covering in crowded places) in our day-to-day life.
“Every one of us can continue to help to bring Covid cases numbers down even further and to protect our community.”

Cllr Kelly Middleton, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Public Health and Well-Being, Equalities and Partnerships (Labour), added:
“Many of our residents who were at first hesitant or who couldn’t get fully vaccinated due to catching Covid are still coming forward to get their jabs and boosters, with vaccination clinics continuing to be open across the borough.
“You can check the list of local clinics on Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care System website. Anyone with any vaccination concerns is more than welcome to drop by and speak to a clinician.
“So far, 82.2% of our residents eligible for the booster already had theirs.
“We will continue to work with our NHS partners to ensure the Covid-19 vaccines and boosters are accessible for everyone in our community, as long as the virus is still with us. “
