Telford & Wrekin Council asks local people ‘Could you care?’

Telford & Wrekin Council is urgently appealing to local people to consider a career at local care providers across the borough.

Telford & Wrekin Council asks local people ‘Could you care?’

The campaign comes as care providers across the borough struggle to recruit enough carers to support the growing number of people who need care in their homes and other care settings.

Councillor Andy Burford, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care said:

“Any one of us, a friend or family member may need care at any time. As we head into the winter, we are seeing more and more people needing help to continue living in the homes they love.

“As a carer, you can give people the greatest gift of all – the opportunity to keep their independence and dignity.

“This is a job with soul. If you are kind, honest, reliable and compassionate, we want to hear from you. No specific qualifications or previous experience are needed for entry-level care worker jobs – all you need are the right qualities.”

The council’s Job Box team are on hand to support people who are interested in a care career with advice and guidance, help to choose the right role and with any application process.

People who are interested in finding out more can find key care roles and a contact form on the council’s website.
