New mytlc app is going down a treat with local businesses
Telford businesses are reaping the rewards of the new mytlc app following its launch earlier this month.
Over 120 businesses are now live on the directory which is helping them to promote a wide range of services and increase their revenue in the run-up to Christmas.
With the festive season fast approaching, businesses are encouraged to sign up for mytlc which has replaced the Telford Loyalty Card app and is a gateway to hundreds of businesses, offers and discounts – encouraging people to shop local.
The free-to-join app can help businesses increase their exposure across the borough, generating new footfall which can lead to increased sales.
One of the businesses to be completely sold by mytlc is Mrs Russell’s Sweets & Treats in Telford which was among the first outlets to sign up for the online tool.
Owner Carol Russell is using the app to promote her Christmas gifts and range of tasty treats which are particularly popular at this time of year.
Carol said: “When I heard about the app it appealed to me because as well as being a free directory it’s the perfect platform for me to promote my business and seasonal offers to a local audience.
“The app is really helping me to engage with a wider customer base, which previously I might not have reached.
“Since I started using the app, I’ve definitely seen an uptake in enquiries and revenue which is really pleasing.”
The Telford Loyalty Card was launched in 2013 but this latest revamped app has been designed to revolutionise the way people use and support local businesses.
Mytlc features businesses from across the Telford & Wrekin borough, including those on main high streets in Dawley, Ironbridge, Newport, Madeley, Oakengates and Wellington.
Shoppers can easily search using a wide range of categories and will be able to access promotional offers on goods and services, leisure activities and attractions, places to dine in or takeaway and much more.
For those businesses who haven’t yet signed up for the app, they are invited to become part of a rapidly growing and popular initiative.
Councillor Lee Carter, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet Member for Neigbourhood, Commercial Services and Regeneration, said: “We’d like to thank all those early adopters of the mytlc app who are really benefiting from what it offers and the feedback has been extremely positive.
“Not only is this business to consumers app supporting our high street businesses but also those smaller independent businesses in Telford who offer goods and services locally.
“The run-up to Christmas is a crucial time for businesses and retailers and this is an excellent platform which I’d encourage businesses to use and improve their presence across the area to boost what is potentially their busiest sales period in the calendar.”
