To take part in the consultation, people can fill in the survey – on the Learning Disability website or request a paper copy of the survey to be delivered to their home, by emailing or ringing 01952 385577

The consultation asks people to share views and examples on what more can be done for all people with a learning disability in Telford and Wrekin to live well and enjoy a full life, as independently as possible.

The feedback received helps finalise a borough-wide draft five-year strategy for adults with a learning disability.

The draft five-year strategy (available on  has been developed by the Council and its partners following extensive engagement activities at the end of last year (through virtual sessions, online questionnaires) with over 160 different people - including people with learning disabilities and their families as well as carers, advocates and staff from various organisations supporting people with learning disabilities.

Councillor Andy Burford, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said:

“We are proud that there is good support for people with a learning disability in Telford and Wrekin, but we know there are many things that could be better.

“We want to make these improvements over the next years and we are asking people for their views on these.

“We already had many responses but with three more weeks until the consultation ends, we want to gather as much feedback as possible - to make sure that our plan does make a positive difference for adults with a learning disability, their families and carers.

“Go to to take part and tell us your views on the strategy and on what more can be done.

“It’s very easy to do so, just fill-in a short questionnaire by Friday, 7 May”
