Carers Culture Day

Next Thursday (16 Jun) is Carers Culture Day and anyone who cares for someone is invited along to an event at Oakengates Theatre @ The Place.

Carers Culture Day

Come along to The Place from 1-4pm and enjoy a wide variety of activities in a relaxed and informal setting and take the opportunity to find out what is available for carers in Telford & Wrekin.

Anyone who looks after someone, whether it’s a family member or friend is invited to this afternoon of recreational and creative activities.

The afternoon costs just £5 and includes cake, drink (soft beverage) and activities.

Councillor Arnold England, cabinet member for Adult Social Care and Older People, said: “Caring for someone is hard work and is often a 24/7 job.  Holding an event for Carers Culture Day at Oakengates Theatre will allow people to enjoy an afternoon with those who know how it feels to be a carer.

“There will be plenty of information available to new and existing carers as well as the opportunity to relax, have some fun and chat to others in a similar position.

“If you know someone who is caring for someone but might not realise yet that they are carer, please let them about the afternoon and encourage them to come along.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from the counter at Oakengates Theatre.  They will also be available on the day.

Registered carers can also join the Theatre Carers Offer which gives half-price tickets for shows throughout the year.
