Enterprise Telford is the local version of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The deadline for entries to Dragons Den Telford is 7 November and shortlisted applicants will be invited to face the dragons in the grand final on Friday 21 November.

People can enter by visiting the Invest in Telford website or by contacting Mandy Swain on 01952 384194 or email mandy.swain@telford.gov.uk

Dragons Den Telford is open to everyone over the age of 16 who lives in the borough. The competition gives local people the opportunity to pitch their business idea to an expert panel during a five minute presentation slot.

The winner will receive a business master class with follow up business coaching, PR support, logo and branding provided by Good2Great, promotional video by Jakim B Media and website assistance provided by Blue Hub Solutions.

People who wish to just watch rather than enter can go along to Southwater One on 21 November between 11am and 1.30pm.

The Dragons Den competition is part of an Inspiration and Information Day which will include a range of stands at Southwater One featuring business support services that will help anyone who wants to start their own business to develop their idea.

Global Entrepreneurship Week runs from 17 November  - 21 November and a launch event will take place on Thursday 30 October outside Southwater One.

The national theme is Get Connected – encouraging participants to connect with new people, resources and technology.

Councillor Bill McClements, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Finance and Enterprise, said: “The Dragons Den competition will be one of the highlights of the week and I urge anyone who wants to be their own boss to enter.

“Enterprise Telford is aimed at inspiring people looking to start their own business to take part in a week of free enterprising event to help them explore their potential as self starters and innovators.”

More information about the individual events that will take place locally during the week will be published shortly.
