POSTPONED: Virtual Meet Shaun postponed

An event planned for tonight (Tuesday 22 September) has been postponed.

The live Q&A on Facebook by Telford & Wrekin Council leader, Cllr Shaun Davies has been postponed in anticipation of an address to the nation by the Prime Minister which would have clashed.

The Council will announce a new date in due course.

During lockdown, Cllr Davies has hosted three very successful virtual Meet Shaun events which are an opportunity for local residents to raise concerns and ask any questions they have.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, Cllr Shaun Davies held regular Meet Shaun events, around the borough, for residents to come and meet him and bring their ideas and ask questions.

Since March, this hasn’t been possible and so Cllr Davies has asked residents to join him online.

Borough residents are asked to post their questions in advance and Cllr Davies will try to answer as many as he can on the night.

Cllr Davies is keen that residents ask anything they like – from questions about how the council is working to help the borough recover in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic, to how we can help to keep coronavirus cases down locally.

Cllr Shaun Davies said: “At a time of national importance it’s crucial we all take the time to listen to and understand the prime minister’s latest measures.

“I am keen that as many local residents as possible are able to ask their questions and tune in for my Q&A, so I have decided to postpone tonight’s event.

“I look forward to answering any questions and hearing about the things that are affecting our local residents and that they’re concerned about very soon.”
