Here are details of what our crews are working on this week, plus links to more information and to report any issues you are aware of.

Pride in Our Community improvements - week starting 3 February 2020

Winter maintenance – our gritters have been out 1 time since last Monday and are on standby 24/7 to respond to Met Office warnings of snow and ice. Met office 5 day forecast for Telford here. More winter information + advice here.

Drains (gullies) – our Balfour Beatty crews are out with the gully tanker cleaning drains in Hadley and Leegomery. You can report a drainage issue here.

Footpaths – our Balfour Beatty crews are improving footpaths in Dothill and Park –Rea Dv, Cound Cl, Barnet Cl, Marton Dv, Teme Av, Bagley Dv, Onslow Dv, Leaton Dv, Clun Cl, Rushbury Rd, Longnor Rd, Buildwas Rd; Donnington – East Av, James Way; St Georges – School St, Grove Estate, West St; and Shawbirch – Oakfield Rd, Span Meadow. Road safety schemes – our Balfour Beatty crews are installing a new crossing point, footway link and traffic calming measures in Chetwynd Road, Newport.

Potholes – as usual our Balfour Beatty crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. This week they are in Admaston, Brookside, Dawley, Hadley, Jackfield, Ketley, Madeley, Malinslee, Muxton, Newport, Snedshill, St Georges and Wellington. Please report any you spot here.  

Street lighting – crews fix faulty street lights reported to us. Please report any you spot here.

Newport Innovation and Enterprise Package – highways/infrastructure improvements to A518 to create Ni-Park, a world-leading agri-tech hub in Newport. More information here

Grounds maintenance – our idverde crews are tending shrub beds in Hadley, Malinslee and Woodside. The tree teams are in areas across the borough, including Malinslee. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here

Street cleansing – our idverde crews are bin emptying and litter picking in areas across the borough. Road sweepers are in Wellington. A Find it Fix It crew is doing jobs in Dawley, and teams are also working in other local areas doing jobs requested by town/parish councils (later this week we’re going out to meet Chris who helps look after Ironbridge). Crews are also working on footpaths in Hollinswood, Stirchley and Wrockwardine Wood. You can report an issue with littering here

Street Champions and Snow Wardens – our volunteer Street Champions are out doing their bit to keep neighbourhoods tidy. Snow Wardens are also on standby to help neighbourhoods if we get snow.  Details about volunteering as a Street Champion, Snow Warden + other opportunities here.

Painting the Wharfage railings - On Friday 7 February, a team from Telford & Wrekin Council, the Gorge Parish Council, volunteer Street Champions and the local community will be painting the railings along The Wharfage. Enforcement – since adopting civil parking enforcement on Friday (31 January), our Neighbourhood Enforcement Officers are out in areas across the borough. They are more than just ‘traffic wardens’ though – they are dealing with a range of environmental issues too, such as littering, fly-tipping and dog-fouling.
