Have your say – vote today
Today (12 DEC) is Election Day in Telford and Wrekin, with voters deciding who will represent them in Parliament.
Nearly 36,000 people applied for a postal vote and over 80% of postal voters have already cast their vote this way.
Anyone choosing to vote in the traditional way can visit their local polling station, with 88 polling stations open across the borough from 7am until 10pm this evening.
If anyone has lost or misplaced their polling card, they can still vote.
Polling station locations can be found at www.wheredoivote.co.uk
Anyone with a postal ballot who has not returned their vote by post can still ensure that they have their say by handing their postal ballot paper in at their local polling station.
Acting Returning Officer, Jonathan Eatough, said: “I urge everyone to take 10 minutes out of their busy schedules to visit a polling station to cast their vote today.”
Polls close at 10pm tonight and election results will be available on the Council’s website at www.telford.gov.uk/elections as soon as they are announced, and will be also be posted live via the Council’s Twitter feed @TelfordWrekin, using #TWelects
Parliamentary results for the Telford and Wrekin constituencies are expected by around 3.30am tomorrow morning.
