Even if you’re away, have your say
On Thursday 12 December 2019, voters in Telford and Wrekin will have their say on who represents them in Parliament.
Electors in the borough will choose the MPs for the Telford constituency and the Wrekin constituency.
But if you’re not in the borough on 12 December and want to vote, why not apply for a postal vote?
If you’re away on business, on holiday or just have other commitments that mean you can’t get to your polling station between 7am and 10pm on 12 December, there’s no reason you have to miss out on having your say on who represents you.
Almost one in three of voters in the borough have already choose to vote by post.
If you haven’t yet applied for a postal vote, you have until Tuesday 26 November to do so.
A postal vote is very easy to arrange. Anyone wishing to apply for a postal vote can do so at https://www.yourvotematters.co.uk/how-do-i-vote/voting-by-post
Applications for a postal vote must be received at the elections office by 5pm on Tuesday 26 November 2019.
Acting Returning Officer, Jonathan Eatough, said: “It’s really quick and straightforward to apply for a postal vote.
“There’s nothing to stop anyone in the borough from having their say in the general election on 12 December.”
