Residents urged to look out for their voter registration details in the post
Residents living in Telford and Wrekin will be receiving their household enquiry form during the first two weeks of August, asking them to make sure that the information that appears on the electoral register for their address is right.
Telford & Wrekin Council is asking residents in the borough to lookout for their form in the post and to respond to it as soon as possible.
With more and more people responding on line and by text the simpleprocess is designed to keep the electoral register up to date and make sureeveryone who wants to vote is able to vote.
Jonathan Eatough, Electoral Registration Officer at Telford & WrekinCouncil, said: “It’s important that residents respond as soon as possible, sowe can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every addressin Telford and Wrekin.
“Simply check the form when it arrives and respond as soon as you can.
“It is easy for people to respond online: 39 per cent of people respondedonline last year and we expect this to be more than 50 per cent this year.”
There are three options open to residents to respond to the canvas, ifall details have remained the same:

If there have been changes in your household, youcan tell us about these online at www.householdresponse.com/telfordwrekin
We do understand that a few people will wantto respond the traditional way and the form can be updated with the details ofeveryone in your household who is eligible to vote and returned to us by post.
Remember it also helps to provide proof of addressetc when you are opening customer, savings or credit accounts.”
If you’re not currently registered, your name will not appear on theform. If you want to register, the easiest way is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote,or we’ll send you information explaining how to do this in the post.”
