The free taster sessions are open to all and there will also be face painting, Whack It Smack It recycled musical instrument workshops, Leos Loco Circus, Bhangra dancing, henna painting as well as the opening of a new outdoor gym.

The event has been organised thanks to £3,500 grant from Telford and Wrekin Council as part of the Lets Get Telford Active campaign.

The funding helped the team purchase equipment and Jacqui Idiens, The Park Lane Centre manager, said: “We are looking forward for the local community to come along to the centre, to try something new and enjoy the party atmosphere.

“We want to bring the community together and provide a place that is safe, well-used and valued by everyone in our community.

“We hope this funding will help us to provide a service to our community that encourages community cohesion and improves physical, mental and emotional health as well as helping social and economic regeneration.”

Andy Burford, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said: “Fun and also support are so important when it comes to being active and we’re lucky to have so many passionate people in our communities like Jacqui Idiens helping to create these events.

“Places all over Telford and Wrekin, from villages to bigger towns will have new events springing up where people can get together and hopefully find something they love.”
