Telford & Wrekin Council are offering further discounts from 1 April to young leisure users in the borough.

Among the discounts, free ice skating for young carers will now be offered at Telford Ice Rink, alongside a 10% discount for pitch, sports hall and court bookings for all residents under 16 years.

Young Carers will have the opportunity to apply for a new TLC Card from 1 April.  The card will give Young Carers the added benefit of free ice skating.  To qualify the Young Carer will need to bring along their letter to any Telford & Wrekin Leisure site to prove their discount eligibility. 

Each 10% pitch, sports hall or court discount is applicable at individual Telford & Wrekin Leisure centres, for more details of local facilities available visit www.telfordandwrekinleisure.co.uk.

The launch of these new discounts from 1 April in addition to the extension of free swimming for residents up to the age of 18 is part of a series of new initiatives announced as part of the Council’s budget.

The discounts available to young leisure users is part of a series of new one off investments which will total £3.6m, made possible following changes to the council’s finances including a one off VAT refund, with a number of these designed to help improve people’s health.
