Maintenance work also starts on Holyhead Road (between Greyhound Interchange and Priorslee Roundabout) and footpaths in Oakengates (Leonard Street, Kensington Way, Cavendish Close and Old Croft). Residential parking – work to improve parking provision continues in Old Wharf and Hill Fold. Work will commence in Span Meadow in Shawbirch and Upper Road in Madeley.

Safety schemes – crews are continuing to work on a traffic calming scheme in Dale Acre Way, Hollinswood and finalising a 20mph zone in the Kingsland estate, Arleston.

Signing Schemes – Work commences on a scheme to replace the directional signing at Apley Roundabout this week and also welcome to Telford gateway signs.

Winter maintenance – our gritters will be out as and when needed. Here’s the Met Office 5 day forecast for Telford

Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. Please report any potholes you spot here or via the Everyday Telford app.

Street lighting – crews are working on upgrading street lights in Wrockwardine, Wellington, Newport, Hollinswood and Randlay and are due to begin work from Ketley Brook to Wrekin Retail Park. As the teams upgrade the street lights in each area, they inspect each column and light first. In some cases, the column needs replacing and so it will be at this point that the new LEDs are installed. Some are in need of further inspection, and so these too are being done later. The full LED programme will be completed by April. If you have a question about street lighting, please email

Grounds maintenance and litter picking – crews are out and about doing seasonal jobs. You can report a grounds maintenance issues here. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Environmental enforcement – we’ve seen a few reports of fly tipping over the last week and ask anyone who spots a fly tip to report it to us here

Street Champions – In collaboration with Telford & Wrekin Council’s ‘Street Champions’ scheme Telford Woods will target some specific areas in and around the Madeley Court Pit Mound woodland for a tidy-up at 1.30pm on Tuesday 12 February. At the same time The Telford MIND group will be undertaking a footpath construction project in the woodland so anyone attending can choose which activity to take part in. Meet in the car park at Court Street Medical Centre in Madeley for a 1.30pm start. Wrap up warm and bring wellies as one of the areas is quite wet. Wellies will also be provided. Details of all volunteering opportunities here.
