Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 4 February 2019

Roads and footpaths – patching is being carried out on Avondale Road, Pendil Close and Marton Drive in Wellington, as well as Deepdale in Hollinswood, Urban Villas in St Georges, Plantation Road to Bobaston Bank crossroads in Tibberton and Cherrington Grange. Maintenance work also starts on Bayley Road, Arleston and footpaths in Oakengates (Leonard Street, Kensington Way, Cavendish Close and Old Croft). Get live updates on street works and traffic management schemes in Telford here.

Residential parking – work to improve parking provision continues in Old Wharf and Hill Fold.  The scheme in Woodrows will be completed this week.

Safety schemes – crews are working on a number of schemes, including a traffic calming scheme in Dale Acre Way, a school safety zone at Dale End/Buildwas Road and signing and lining at River Lane.

Footbridges and other structures – work to fill in underpasses in Randlay Avenue (near Catherton) continues.

Drainage – work continues in Rhodes Avenue, Dawley and is expected to finish this week.

Winter maintenance – our gritters will be out as and when needed. Here’s the Met Office 5 day forecast for Telford.

Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. Please report any potholes you spot here or via the Everyday Telford app.

Street lighting – crews are working on upgrading street lights in Wrockwardine, Wellington, Newport, Hollinswood and Randlay. As the teams upgrade the street lights in each area, they inspect each column and light first. In some cases, the column needs replacing and so it will be at this point that the new LEDs are installed. Some are in need of further inspection, and so these too are being done later. The full LED programme will be completed by April. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk.

Grounds maintenance and litter picking – crews are out and about doing seasonal jobs. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Environmental enforcement – we’ve seen a few reports of fly tipping over the last week and ask anyone who spots a fly tip to report it to us here.

Street Champions – Our Street Champions report issues they see to us and do litter picks (among other things) and Snow Wardens help out in their local communities when the white stuff arrives. If you would like to volunteer as a Street Champion or Snow Warden please get in touch. Details about volunteering as a Street Champion or Snow Warden and other volunteering opportunities here.
