DENSO makes donation to Council Mayor’s Community Fund
One of Telford’s largest and longest established companies has made a cash donation to Telford & Wrekin Council’s Mayor’s annual charity.
Mayor, Councillor Raj Mehta was delighted to receive a cheque for £2,500 from managing director Mark Hayward of DENSO Manufacturing UK.
The presentation took place at an event organised by DENSO, to reveal its state-of-the-art Skills Promotion Centre.
Councillor Mehta said: “We are overwhelmed by this donation to the Building Bridges charity, it will go a long way to support the various groups working to support children and young people, the elderly and vulnerable and those with special needs.
“We are blessed as a community to have such supportive businesses that actively contributes to make Telford a better place and we graciously thank DENSO for their support.”
Managing director Mark Hayward said: “We are passionate about our role and standing in the community and this seemed an ideal opportunity for us to help the residents of the borough.
“We have a very strong corporate social responsibility framework - our core values are centred on how we can contribute to communities and society at large while protecting and respecting the environment.
“This financial donation goes some way to supporting local causes and is further supported by a strong foundation of voluntary hours spent in the community. Already our associates at DENSO have contributed in excess of 2,500 hours this year alone.”
