Pride In Our Community improvements - week beginning 29 October 2018

Roads – work continues in Kingsway Crescent, Kingsland, Charles Road and Arleston Avenue, Manor Road, Toll Road and Stone Crescent, Arleston, Hollies Road and Orleton Lane, Wellington. Work is also starting on Spring Hill, Wellington and Riddings Close, Ketley. Get live updates on street works and traffic management schemes in Telford here.

Footpaths – improvements continue in Oakengates and Hadley.

Safety Schemes – we are making changes to the traffic signals at Castlefields Way/Woodside Avenue junction to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow through the area. A CCTV camera at Castlefields Roundabout has also been installed to help us monitor and manage traffic.

Residential parking – crews are working in Willowfield Woodside to improve parking provision in the area, and work is expected to last for around three weeks.

Drainage – work continues in Waterloo Road in Ketley and Preston upon the Weald Moors.

Winter maintenance – after a frosty start to the week, the weather is going to be noticeably chillier this week. Gritters were out last night and are due out again tonight. Here’s the Met Office 5 day forecast for Telford.

Potholes - crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us. Please report any potholes you spot here or via the Everyday Telford app.

Street lighting – crews are working on upgrading street lights in Wellington, Ketley, Randlay and Dawley. If you have a question about street lighting, please email streetlighting@telford.gov.uk.

Church Aston culvert – The Dale in Church Aston remains closed following the collapse of the carriageway earlier this month. Surveys of the underground culvert to try and establish its extent are continuing and the road is expected to be shut for a few weeks yet.

Improvements in Hollies Road and surrounding area in Wellington continue until mid-December. Temporary road closures are in place, but are being phased in order to keep disruption to local residents & businesses to a minimum. More info, including FAQs and contact details here

Grounds maintenance and litter picking – crews are out in areas across the borough and will begin the job of clearing leaves in early November once the majority have fallen. They will also then start planting up the winter bedding. You can report a grounds maintenance issue here. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Champion volunteers – our volunteers are doing a champion job in their communities. Our Street Champions report issues they see to us and do litter picks (among other things). We’re also rallying our Snow Warden volunteers ready for winter. If you would like to volunteer as a Street Champion or Show Warden in your area please let us know. Details of all volunteering opportunities here.
