Celebrate Telford’s talent as part of its 50th anniversary!

To mark both Telford’s 50th birthday and 50 years of Oakengates Theatre @ The Place, ‘Telford’s Got Talent’ 2018 will be holding its Live Show performance at Oakengates Theatre on Friday 15th June.

The event is organized by Shaquille Dennis-Miller and his siblings, Tannisha Anton, Jamaal and Jahmalachi the Dennis-Miller Production Team and benefits from funding from the Council’s Telford Pride @ 50 Celebration Grant.


‘Telford’s Got Talent’ promises to be a spectacular event that brings older and younger generations together to celebrate the broad range of talent in Telford, in its 50th year.


This is a chance for residents to see the best of Telford’s talent in this final live show, tickets are on sale and can be booked here.


There will be 19 acts performing in the final and an independent judging panel with different interest and experiences, including Channel 4 Gogglebox Star Sandra Martin, Leader of Telford & Wrekin Council – Shaun Davies, DJ Entertainer - Lynton Mclean and a Senior Nursery Practitioner - Hayley Fellows.


If you are attending the show, you will also have the opportunity to be part of the judging panel where you can have a say on who you think the next star of Telford will be. You will have a piece of paper on your seat with the acts that are performing, once all acts have performed you can tick for who you want to be the winner.


The winner of “Telford’s Got Talent” 2018 will receive a £500 cash prize and a Trophy, will perform at the Shropshire Festival on the main stage and at a Charity Family Fundraiser in July 2018 and will be in the local newspaper.


Councillor Rae Evans, the Council’s Cabinet Member for People Services, Tourism & Partnerships said: “We are delighted to support “Telford’s Got Talent” 2018 edition with funding from the Telford Pride @ 50 Celebration Grant and to host the Live Show at Oakengates Theatre @ The Place premises.


“We hope that many people in Telford will choose to come and watch the show, as this a fantastic event showcasing the talent in Telford, in its 50th birthday year.”
