Pride In Our Community improvements - week starting 21 May

Here’s an update on the work our crews are doing this week.

Pride In Our Community improvements - week starting 21 May

Roads – Highway improvements commence on Stonebridge Close, Aqueduct.  Works continue on Cloisters Way and Redhill Way in St Georges.

Car Parks – Work continues on Brindleyford and Bishopdale.

Footpaths – Weather permitting, work will continue in Dawley & Aqueduct, Wrockwardine Wood & Trench and Hadley & Leegomery.

Road lining and signage – Road lining and signage crews will be undertaking lining works on a find and fix basis in areas across the borough.

Street lighting – crews are upgrading lights to more energy-efficient LEDs in Wellington, Stirchley, Hadley & Leegomery, Brookside and Dawley. They will be moving on to Oakengates later in the week.

Potholes fixers – ‘Find it Fix it’ crews are filling potholes that have been reported to us.  Please help by reporting any you spot here or via the Everyday Telford app.

Litter picking and grass cutting – estate crews will be out litter picking in areas around Brookside, Sutton Hill, Woodside, Hollinswood, Randlay, Stirchley, Malinslee, Leegomery and College. Anyone wanting to report an issue with littering in their area can do so here.

Pride in Our Community Street Champion volunteers – volunteers are out doing a champion job in our communities.  Businesses are also doing their bit and allowing staff to make a difference.  This Tuesday, 15 staff from Reassure Life Assurance are litter picking Hall Park Way in the town centre, and will be making a regular thing of it by doing monthly litter picks in the area around their offices, with the area around the train station next on the list.  On Wednesday, our Pride Officer will be out with students from TCAT litter picking the area known as Ketley Dingle.  Weather permitting, this will become a weekly task as they are now signed up to become Street Champions.  To volunteer as a Street Champion in your area email pride.officer@telford.gov.uk.  For other volunteering opportunities visit www.telford.gov.uk/volunteering.
