The Road to PyeongChang 2018
Telford & Wrekin Council host skiing and skating taster sessions ahead of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games this February.
PyeongChang’s 2018 vision for the Winter Olympic Games is to offer the Olympic Movement and the world of winter sports New Horizons - a legacy of new growth and new potential never seen before.
If the idea of developing new potential in 2018 appeals; Telford Snowboard and Ski Centre and Telford Ice Rink have teamed up to offer the ultimate Winter Olympic taster sessions.
Designed to take customers down the road to PyeongChang, each taster session will teach beginner tips and tricks to help customers learn the basics for skating or skiing.
The short sessions aim to familiarise customers with the equipment used when skating or skiing, while speaking to instructors about the sport and having a go at some beginner activities.
Councillor John Minor, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Green Spaces and Parks, said: “It’s going to be an exciting month for winter sports this year, with the 2018 Winter Olympics Games about to start.
“The Leisure team aim to provide an opportunity for local residents to experience these winter sports themselves, and maybe even learn a trick or two.
“Telford Snowboard and Ski Centre and the Ice Rink are thrilled to be hosting these taster sessions throughout February and during the half term period if you’re looking for things to do with the children.”
Each session is £5 and does require advance booking at each of the chosen sites. For more details about how to book or enquire, click here.
