New Meet the Cabinet events
Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cabinet are inviting residents to meet them at events across the borough on Thursday 18 January.
The new Meet the Cabinet events are designed to complement the bi-monthly Meet Shaun events. The Meet Shaun events are usually held in the main centres across the borough, while the Meet the Cabinet events will focus on more local centres and wards.
On Thursday 18 January, the Cabinet will visit:
At the Sambrook Centre in Stirchley, 9.30am – 12 noon, residents will be able to meet Councillor Lee Carter, Councillor Arnold England and Councillor Angela McClements
At Leegomery Community Centre, 12.30 – 3pm, Councillors Shaun Davies, John Minor and Richard Overton will be available to meet residents.
At The Carpenter Family Centre in Overdale, 3.30 – 6pm, residents will be able to raise any issues with Councillor Paul Watling, Councillor Shirley Reynolds and Councillor Rae Evans.
The events are aimed to gather ideas from all over the borough to gain a further understanding of the views and opinions of residents.
Council leader, Shaun Davies, said: “I’m really pleased to be rolling out these new events. Residents have continually asked for more flexible times to attend these events and so I’m pleased that these will cover an entire day and different parts of the borough.
“Events like these enable us to gain a significant insight into the views and opinions of the public which is really helpful to the Council’s work.
“We’re always open to new ideas on all matters and we look forward to listening to a large variety of them.”
Cabinet members will be available to help with queries regarding any subject but in case of interest, these are their specific Cabinet roles:
