Exotic Zoo invites community groups for free ‘Give Back Week’

The Exotic Zoo is co-ordinating a week of free sessions for certain community groups – as a thank you for Telford & Wrekin Council’s help with the Zoo’s relocation to Priorslee.

The council has been helping the zoo move to a new home in Priorslee during the course of the summer.

The Exotic Zoo is well known for community education and animal assisted therapy work. The move to a new location has allowed the Zoo to rebuild its education centre and therapy dome while also adding a community zoo.

As part of Give Back Week, the zoo is opening its doors free on Monday 11th of September for a week to voluntary run groups and volunteers who give up their time to support members of the community. A number of groups have been invited to visit the zoo for an up close and personal experience.

Telford & Wrekin Council leader Councillor Shaun Davies said: “This is an amazing way to support people who aren’t as fortunate as some of us and a brilliant way to thank those who help out

“The Exotic Zoo provides a wonderful and unique service for the physically and mentally disabled and it is great to have these services based here in Telford.”

Scott Adams, of the Exotic Zoo, said: “We have been working with the council to organise which groups will attend during the giving Back Week. We have always been passionate about supporting different groups in the community.”

The Exotic Zoo aims to support groups of people with disabilities and to offer a thank you to hard working carers and volunteers who give up their time to support others.
